Ive been scammed on ebay one too many times. Dispute after dispute, money refunds, no funds available, and other annoying tricks people play to scam you of your money. I found a great write up that explains how to work with a scam free ebay. It has great tips and I have some of my own.
If your working with a money order, be sure to give it 3-4days to clear. Money orders have changed, they are now like cash checks, people can put a stop on them so don’t send the item until it clears!
Another tip is NO WESTERN UNION, do not send your money via western union unless you already have the item in your hands. There is no insurance using this method, once the money is sent, consider it gone.
Paypal - be sure your sending money to a verified member. If there in another country and they are not verified, dont even think about it. In most cases paypal will not refund your money for non verified members.
Patience… if you notice that a seller or buyer is acting unusually impatient, wants the money now, demands you work faster with your transaction, etc. I would strongly recommend just backing off and working with a different buyer or seller. This characteristic sometimes is the signs of fraud.
